Jen & Evan's Reception

On December 18, 2009, The Palace Event Center hosted the wedding reception of Jen Semmler and Evan Dresel.  With two hundred and fifty of their closest family and friends, the night was filled with love and laughter as they celebrated the Mr. and Mrs.  The bride chose a "Vintage Glam" theme.  Everything from the parties attire to the frosting on the cake was elegantly decored in black and ivory.  As guests arrived, they were asked to fill out a note and hang it on the wish tree.  The wish tree was anchored in an ice table.  A very unique idea that the bride collaborated with Cheryl and Ken of Ideas in Ice on for many months.  One of the most memorable events of the night was when the bridal party made their Grand Entrance.  The groom had bought each member of the bridal party black nomad sunglasses.  The party all wore them as they busted out dance moves to the rock-n-roll song "Your Touch" by the Black Keys.  After their announcement, the couple danced under the romantic lighting of string lights and paper lanterns to "Hold You in My Arms" by Ray Lamontagne and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Lady Antebellum.  Guests enjoyed the menu which consisted of a tossed winter salad of bleu cheese, walnuts and cranberries topped with maple vinagerette,  gourmet soups served in bread bowls and venison mini sandwiches accompanied by chipotle mayo and jalapeno mustard.  Dancers filled the dance floor all night long.  As the night wrapped up, Jen and Evan danced their last dance to "Grooving Slowly" by John Butler as everyone formed a circle around them.  And finally, as guests left, they got to fix up a to-go bag of gourmet popcorn from the popcorn buffet set up by The Bride.
